Florida Man, 72, Loses Part Of Leg In Alligator Attack: Reports

TITUSVILLE, FL — A Florida man lost part of his leg in a recent alligator attack at a Brevard County RV park, according to multiple reports citing authorities.
The attack happened Friday at the Great Outdoors RV Nature & Golf Resort in Titusville, WKMG reported. Fire officials told the station the 72-year-old man's leg was "amputated" below his right knee.
The man was taken to the hospital for treatment, WKMG report. His condition is unknown.

According to a WESH report, state wildlife officials as well as Brevard County sheriff's deputies tracked the gator in a canal near where the attack took place. At least one gator was seen with a human foot protruding from its mouth, WESH reported.
Officials were able to capture and kill the gator, according to WESH. A second gator was also killed by wildlife officials, reports said.

Floridians concerned about an alligator should call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-392-4286. According to the agency, an alligator is deemed a nuisance if it is at least 4 feet long and poses a threat to people, pets, or property.
