Glenn Campbell’s Daughter Delivers Impromptu Performance at The Watermark at Marco Island
During a visit to the community, Ashley Campbell - daughter of the legendary Glen Campbell - took the stage for an impromptu performance
Earlier this month, residents of The Watermark at Marco Island were treated to an unexpected brush with country music royalty. During a visit to the community, Ashley Campbell - daughter of the legendary Glen Campbell - took the stage for an impromptu performance at the assisted living and memory care community.
Ashley and her mother, Kim Campbell, visited the community while in town for a benefit at the Naples Yacht Club. The pair stopped by to visit their long-time friend, Watermark’s Executive Director Robyn Johnson, who served on the Board of Directors for the Kim & Glen Campbell Foundation.
The visit coincided with the community’s “Jazz on the Greens” event, featuring the Rich Naples Jazz ensemble. The group, a quartet of seasoned Southwest Florida musicians including Rich Townsend, Mike Nardi, Carlo Fusarom, and Frank Michota, brings over 250 years of combined musical experience to the stage.

“During the visit, Ashley and Kim stopped to enjoy the live music on our back porch with our residents,” said Johnson. “Ashley asked if she could join the band for a few songs, and we were thrilled to make that happen. What a cool experience for our residents to have Ashley perform and bring a piece of Glenn and his story to our community.”
Ashley performed some of the classics for residents, including "La Vie en Rose," "A Kiss to Build a Dream On," and "Sweet Georgia Brown."

Her debut single, “Remembering,” was written as a tribute to her father and his courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Glenn Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011. The documentary “Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me” chronicles his remarkable career, diagnosis and his final tour.
“Ashley’s set was a beautiful reminder of the power of music to connect generations and create lasting memories,” said Johnson. “We hope to have her and Kim back at the community in a more official capacity, as well look for new and different ways to connect with our memory care residents and provide whole-person wellness right here on Marco Island.”
Following the set, Kim and Ashley stayed to experience the community firsthand. They sampled a signature meal prepared by Chef Salvatore, toured the grounds, and spent time chatting with various Watermark members.
