Rich Swann, WWE Wrestler, Assaulted Wife In Gainesville: Cops

BREAKING: Police say Swann placed his wife, who is also a wrestler, in a headlock and dragged her back into their car after an argument.

GAINESVILLE, FL — WWE wrestler Richard "Rich" Swann was arrested in Gainesville late Saturday on charges of domestic simple battery and false imprisonment. Swann and his wife, Vannarah Riggs, who is also a professional wrestler, got in an argument in a car after she performed at the nightclub Eight Seconds in Gainesville, police said.

When Swann stopped the car in the middle of traffic near the intersection of SE Hawthorne Road and SE 24th Street, Riggs, who goes by Su Yung, jumped out. That's when police said he yelled at her to get back in the car and, when she refused, put her in a headlock and then physically dragged her back in to the vehicle as she screamed for help.

A witness told police they saw Swann's wife beating on the car window screaming for help when he drove away.

A second witness told police they saw her jump out of the car less than a mile away at 1500 E. University Ave. Swann then chased his wife, police said, and the car — which wasn't parked — rolled into a telephone pole.

Police said Swann, of Orlando, told them he did not drag his wife into the car and she got in on her own.
