South FL Residents Win Millions In Florida Lottery Games

South Florida's lucky streak continues in the new year as several residents win at least $1 million in Florida Lottery scratch-off games.

SOUTH FLORIDA — South Florida’s lucky streak continues in 2021. During the first three weeks of January, a number of South Florida residents won top prizes of at least $1 million in Florida Lottery scratch-off games.

This follows December, another lucky month, where at least six South Florida residents won $1 million or more playing scratch-off games.

A 66-year-old Broward County woman is one of the latest winners, claiming a $1 million top prize from THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000 scratch-off game.

Marie Michel of Miramar chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $790,000. She claimed her prize by mailing in her winning ticket to Florida Lottery’s Miami district office.

She purchased her winning ticket from the Publix at 7805 SW 40th Street in Miami. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000, a $30 game, launched in February 2020 and features 155 top prizes of $1 million. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.79.

Meanwhile, a 52-year-old Miami Gardens woman claimed a $1 million top prize from the BONUS TRIPLE MATCH scratch-off game. Stephanie Wright opted to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $875,000 by using a secured drop box at the Miami district office.

She purchased her winning ticket from the BP at 13075 NW 27th Ave. in Miami. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

BONUS TRIPLE MATCH, a $5 game, launched in August 2020, and offers more than $48.8 million in total cash prizes, including four top prizes of $1 million. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.03.

A 60-year-old Miami man also claimed a top $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 MONOPOLY JACKPOT scratch-off game. Jaunza Kurtz chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $715,000 using a secured drop box at the Miami district office.

He purchased his winning ticket from Murphy USA at 17680 NW 2nd Ave. in Miami Gardens. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

$1,000,000 MONOPOLY JACKPOT, a $5 game, launched in July 2018 and features more than $32 million in prizes. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.98.

Earlier in January, a 31-year-old West Palm Beach woman claimed a $1 million top prize from the 50X THE CASH scratch-off game.

Mayra Palacio Mazo chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $890,000. She claimed her prize using a secured drop box at Florida Lottery's West Palm Beach district office.

She purchased her winning ticket from the Star K at 217 North Federal Highway in Boynton Beach. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

50X THE CASH, a $5 game, launched in September and features 10 top prizes of $1 million. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.97.

And a 67-year-old Miami man won a $1 million prize playing the $5,000,000 CASHWORD scratch-off game.

Rodrigo Quesada opted to receive his prize as a one-time lump-sum payment of $780,000. He claimed his prize after mailing in his winning ticket to the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

He purchased his winning ticket from Stop N Shop at 9610 Fountainebleau Blvd. in Miami. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

$5,000,000 CASHWORD, a $20 game, launched in May and features eight top prizes of $5 million and 24 second-tier prizes of $1 million. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.91.

A 52-year-old Miami man also claimed the $950,000 jackpot from the Jan. 8 JACKPOT TRIPLE PLAY drawing. Michael Gomez chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $800,693 using a secured drop box at the Miami district office.

He purchased his jackpot-winning JACKPOT TRIPLE PLAY with a combo quick pick ticket from the Publix Liquor Store at 9420 SW 56th Street in Miami. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
