These Are The Best Hospitals In Florida, Newsweek Says In New List

FLORIDA — The best hospital in Florida is Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, but 22 others are ranked in Newsweek’s first-ever list of America’s Best In-State Hospitals.

Every hospital in the country was eligible for the inaugural ranking for 2024, which includes 600 hospitals across all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The results are based on four data sources, including surveys by Newsweek’s data partner, Statista, of doctors, hospital administrators and other healthcare professionals, as well as patients, and Medicare and Medicaid data.

The final scores were weighted on peer recommendations (32.5 percent in-state and 7.5 percent out-of-state), patient experience (17.5 percent), hospital quality metrics (40 percent) and implementation of standardized Patient-Reported Outcome Measures, or PROMs (2.5 percent).

The Florida hospitals named to the list, along with their score and location, are:

2. Tampa General Hospital: 87.41 percent
3. Cleveland Clinic - Florida, Weston: 85.75 percent
4. Sarasota Memorial Hospital: 85.7 percent
5. St. Joseph's Hospital - BayCare, Tampa: 85.24 percent
6. Baptist Health Baptist Hospital, Miami: 85.06 percent
7. AdventHealth Orlando: 81.8 percent
8. Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater: 81.73 percent
9. Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor: 79.23 percent
10. Memorial Hospital Miramar: 78.78 percent
11. Orlando Regional Medical Center: 78.41 percent
12. Baptist Medical Center - Nassau, Fernandina Beach: 78.20 percent
13. Memorial Hospital West, Pembroke Pines: 77.24 percent
14. South Miami Hospital: 77.23 percent
