Sheriff Releases Names Of Couple Found Dead In Murder-Suicide

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the victims in a murder-suicide at a home in Sun City Center.

SUN CITY CENTER, FL -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the victims in an apparent murder-suicide Friday, Sept. 28 at a home in Sun City Center. This is the sixth murder-suicide in Tampa Bay in the past week (see related stories below.)

At 7:48 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, a 911 call came in from a neighbor on Preservation Green Court reporting the sound of gunfire. Deputies arrived to a home on the 2200 block of Preservation Green Court to find Joseph Sutton, 75, and Karen Sutton, 74, dead.

Deputies arrived to find women's clothing scattered on the walkway leading up to the front door of the home. When deputies knocked on the door, no one answered. Deputies were able to look through a front window, and saw what appeared to be blood on the floor.

Deputies entered the home through the unlocked front door and found the couple dead of gunshot wounds.
