Bradenton Boy's Death Ruled a Homicide

Sexual battery charges have been filed against the boyfriend of the child's mother, but no one has been charged in the death as of yet.

As the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into the April 12 death of a 4-year-old boy, his mother’s boyfriend now faces sexual battery charges.

The boy’s death has also been ruled a homicide, but no charges have been filed in the death as of yet, according to the Bradenton Herald. Alexander Marr was severely beaten before his death, the paper noted.

Trevor Cardarelle, 25, is the boyfriend of Dianna Marr, Alexander’s mother. He was brought into custody after the boy’s death on ammunition possession charges. Caradelle is a convicted felon, which makes possession of ammunition illegal.

Additional charges against Cardarelle were lodged Wednesday, jail records indicate. He now faces capital sexual battery charges, accused of raping Alexander’s 7-year-old, the Herald reported.
