Johnson illegally entered the Capitol and removed the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s lectern from where it had been stored on the House side of the building, the DOJ said. A search of open sources led law enforcement to Johnson, who is seen in a widely circulated photo inside the Capitol carrying the lectern.

Prior to his arrest, The Bradenton Herald identified Johnson in the photo, which was taken by chief Getty Images photographer Win McNamee during Wednesday’s breach of the Capitol. In the photo, Johnson is shown smiling and waving as he carries what appears to be a U.S. House lectern through the Capitol building, the Herald said.
