2. What's next for Bunnell now that Flagler County is appealing landfill? (bradenton.com) — Bunnell’s approval of the 610-acre “Project Butterfly” landfill is now being challenged by Flagler County, which says the city violated both governments’ comprehensive plans and failed to fully coordinate on land-use impacts. County commissioners meeting in Bunnell have ordered an appeal to the City Commission, potentially triggering a state-mandated conflict-resolution process that could lead to mediation or even litigation over the project’s future.

Rescued horse recovering after alleged neglect in Flagler County (wogx.com) — A Bunnell horse rescue is nursing 27-year-old gelding Laredo back to health after Flagler deputies say he was severely neglected, and the former caretaker now faces an aggravated animal cruelty charge. The nonprofit SKC Hands Up in rural Bunnell is covering costly, specialized care and is asking residents for donations ahead of a November fundraiser where Laredo will be featured.

FCSO: Three Arrested During Fugitive Warrant Service After Occupants' Failed Attempt to Deceive Deputies (flaglernewsweekly.com) — Flagler County deputies based in Bunnell arrested a Palm Coast man wanted for felony criminal mischief after spotting him leaving a Ballenger Lane home where two women had denied he was present. Investigators say the women’s attempt to mislead deputies led to their own obstruction charges, with all three booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, though the women have since been released on bond.

5. Fugitive rescued by canoe after fleeing deputies in Flagler County (wftv.com) — Bunnell residents may notice extra law enforcement activity after deputies tracked a wanted woman from Ormond Beach into a wooded area and ultimately rescued and arrested her using a borrowed canoe. The fugitive, wanted on a Walton County warrant, was evaluated by medical personnel and is now held without bond at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. Neighbors’ quick calls and cooperation were key to resolving the situation safely.
