2. 10 migrants found on boat off Fort Lauderdale transferred to the Bahamas, USCG says (nbcmiami.com) β Ten migrants were intercepted by the U.S. Coast Guard about 40 miles east of Fort Lauderdale and later transferred to the Bahamas after receiving food, water, shelter, and medical checks. Crews from the cutter Robert Yered battled eight-foot seas during the operation, underscoring the ongoing migrant interdiction activity just off the city's coast.

5. 5th year of steep enrollment drops in Broward Schools bolsters officials' plan to shutter several campuses (wsvn.com) β Families in Fort Lauderdale and across Broward County face another round of potential school closures after enrollment dropped by more than 12,000 students this year, the steepest decline in five years. Ten additional campuses are being considered for shutdown, and the school board will hold another public workshop Tuesday morning to debate how to respond to the continuing exodus.
