Fort Walton Beach Physician Pays $300,000 To Resolve Controlled Substances Act Violation Allegations (crweworld.com) — A Fort Walton Beach gastroenterologist has agreed to pay $300,000 and accept tighter DEA oversight after federal authorities alleged he unlawfully prescribed opioids and other controlled substances without maintaining patient records. While he denies liability, he surrendered his DEA registration for certain drugs and must complete extra training, a move aimed at curbing opioid misuse and protecting patients across the community.
