Crabbe wins Gainesville City Commission District 2 seat (wcjb.com) ā Gainesville voters have elected former Gainesville Sun opinions editor Nathan Crabbe to the City Commissionās District 2 seat with 62% of the vote, replacing Ed Book. Crabbe says heāll focus on affordable housing, better roads, and stronger infrastructure while encouraging more residents to engage in local politics. His opponents plan to stay active in public service, including work with the Alachua County Veterans Advisory Board.

Gainesville man arrested for violating domestic violence injunction while armed (alachuachronicle.com) ā Gainesville police arrested a 42-year-old man accused of entering a womanās home with an old key while armed, despite an active domestic violence injunction. 4. Former Baby Gator gives back with new lending libraries - The Independent Florida Alligator (alligator.org) ā A Gainesville Eagle Scout candidate has installed two colorful lending libraries at UFās Baby Gator preschools, giving local children and families free, flexible access to books. Supported by Gainesvilleās all-girl Troop 21 and UF staff, the project promotes early literacy and community sharing. The libraries are already drawing excited young readers and help Sharma complete key requirements for her Eagle Scout rank.
