• Wedgworth Leadership Institute for Agriculture and Natural Resources announces Class XIII (ufl.edu) — Hastings is represented statewide as Allie Coleman of Tater Farms in Hastings joins 29 other agriculture professionals in the prestigious two-year Wedgworth Leadership Institute Class XIII. Participants will travel across Florida, Washington, D.C., and abroad to build leadership skills and advocate for agriculture, bringing new connections and expertise back to local farms and agribusinesses. 
• A look at the work of Habitat for Humanity in St. Johns County (staugustine.com) — Families in Hastings and across St. Johns County could benefit from Habitat for Humanity St. Johns' affordable homebuilding program, which pairs sweat equity from future homeowners with local volunteers. The group is also planning its Cypress Village community, with St. Augustine helping provide sewer hookups, and continues to invite schools, businesses, and residents to build alongside partner families.
