• School cancelled, residents being evacuated due to wildfire in Brantley County, Georgia (11alive.com) — Two major brush fires in Hilliard are still burning, with a 500-acre blaze off Conner-Nelson Road and a 100-acre fire near Buford Bay both about 80% contained as of Monday night. While much of the story covers Georgia and regional fires, Nassau County officials say local crews remain on the lines in Hilliard, and residents should stay alert for changing conditions and smoke impacts.
   

• Wildfire risks could grow over next 10 weeks, officials warn (jaxtoday.org) — Fire crews have an active 500-acre wildfire near Connor-Nelson Road in West Hilliard about 80% contained, along with a nearby 100-acre fire, as extreme drought fuels 11 blazes across Northeast Florida. Officials warn Hilliard-area residents that wildfire risk will likely worsen over the next eight to ten weeks and urge homeowners to clear defensible space and follow county burn bans to protect homes and firefighters.
