1. Man accused of assaulting UNF student with autism in bathroom on campus (news4jax.com) — A University of North Florida student with autism reported being followed into a campus bathroom, restrained in a stall, and filmed by a man later identified as 22-year-old Jack Laroche of Kingsland, Georgia. UNF police arrested Laroche on charges including abusing a disabled adult and false imprisonment; he has since bonded out and is scheduled for arraignment in Jacksonville on September 14.
   

2. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office headquarters transitioning to the Florida Blue building (firstcoastnews.com) — Jacksonville residents should prepare for temporary changes in access to the Sheriff's Office as headquarters operations move from the Police Memorial Building downtown to the Florida Blue building in Brooklyn. Public counters and the District 1 substation will briefly close and reopen at the new site, while City Council considers another $26 million for buildout and warehouse consolidation later this month.
   

3. Jacksonville educator seeks community support after nonprofit Hart House declared total loss (news4jax.com) — A longtime Jacksonville educator is asking for community help after Hart House, her nonprofit home for young adults working toward independence, was declared a total loss following severe damage from a roofing job. City code enforcement briefly ordered emergency demolition, insurance denied coverage, and the structure continues to deteriorate, so she's urgently seeking local contractors, donors, and volunteers to stabilize, clear, and eventually rebuild the property.
