Woman dies after being hit by car while walking along Lady Lake roadway, FHP says (wesh.com) — A woman from Lady Lake died after an SUV struck her Tuesday night while she was walking along Vermont Avenue near Wales Plaza, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers say an 83-year-old local man driving a Dodge Journey hit the 82-year-old pedestrian, who later died at the hospital, and the crash remains under investigation.
   

2. Intoxicated intruder shows up at bank renovation site in The Villages (villages-news.com) — A Lady Lake resident was arrested after police say he showed up intoxicated at a Seacoast Bank renovation site in Spanish Springs Town Square and attacked a construction worker. Officers from the Lady Lake Police Department recovered the worker's phone, reported a head injury, and booked the suspect into Lake County Jail on robbery, battery, and related charges.
   

3. Central Florida police agencies suspend license plate reader use (wftv.com) — Lady Lake's police department is suspending its automated license plate reader program after new state guidance, losing a tool they say helped find stolen cars and missing residents. Chief Steve Hunt says the department is disappointed but acknowledges privacy concerns, joining Groveland and Eustis in pausing the technology while Florida officials review oversight and rules.
   

4. Legacies inspire (miramarflnews.com) — A recent fatal crash involving an 82‑year‑old Lady Lake woman walking in The Villages is prompting questions about pedestrian safety for older adults.
