Woman kidnapped at Largo gas station, held in apartment: police (wfla.com) — Largo police say a woman was forced into her car at a 7-Eleven on Ulmerton Road and then held in a shared apartment until she could secretly message a friend for help. Officers later arrested 27-year-old Joshua Sandman, charging him with robbery by sudden snatching, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and domestic battery after the alleged domestic dispute turned violent.
   

2. Largo Hosts Town Hall On Property Taxes And City Services (tampafp.com) — Largo residents are invited to a Sept. 9 town hall explaining how their property taxes fund city services, with city leaders and state officials answering questions in person and online. The event at Horizon West Bay includes a presentation, panel discussion, and chances to speak directly with department staff about budgets and service impacts.
   

3. Largo's property tax forum becomes a political flashpoint (stpetecatalyst.com) — Largo's upcoming property tax forum has sparked a dispute between city leaders and State Rep. Berny Jacques over whether the event could appear biased against Amendment 3. Officials say the Sept. 9 town hall will focus on factual impacts, including a potential $15 million budget reduction and possible cuts to police, fire, parks, and emergency services.
   

4. Pinellas County Weekend DUI Crackdown In Memory Of Clearwater Crash Victim Mark Harris (tampafp.com) — Largo drivers should expect a heavy DUI enforcement presence Saturday night as local police join a countywide "Wolf Pack" crackdown on impaired driving from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. The operation, honoring a Clearwater crash victim, will target major Pinellas roads to reduce injuries and deaths, with officers focused on removing impaired motorists and educating the public.
   

5. Largo man arrested after scamming victim out of $16,000: LPD (tampabay28.com) — Largo police arrested 29-year-old Jhamarro Wilkins after investigators say he tricked a victim into placing $16,000 in cash into a package he then collected. According to LPD, a relative helped identify him, and he now faces a grand theft charge while being held in the Pinellas County Jail without bond.
