• Driver arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing at gas station in Leesburg (leesburg-news.com) — A Leesburg Mobil gas station on E North Blvd was the scene of a serious DUI crash, where a 69-year-old driver with two prior DUI convictions allegedly struck an SUV and showed clear signs of impairment. Police say he refused field sobriety tests and a breath sample before being arrested and booked into Lake County Jail on felony DUI and test-refusal charges. 
• Marion County sees over $15 million in lottery winnings so far in 2026 (ocala-news.com) — Leesburg gets a brief mention in Marion County's lottery hot streak, as a $10 million Powerball jackpot claimed by an Ocklawaha resident was actually purchased in town. Overall, Marion County residents and businesses have already claimed more than $15 million in 2026, with multiple million-dollar wins and several big Fantasy 5 and scratch-off prizes.

We're in the process of getting a new water heater and for the exact same thing we've gotten quotes anywhere from 1,150 to $2,700. Now mind you the… (Nextdoor Pennbrooke) - Took down one tree and ground.
