• Wekiva Island Seafood Boil Returns November 7 to Benefit Central Florida Zoo (mycentralfloridafamily.com) — Longwood residents can look forward to Wekiva Island's annual Seafood Boil on Saturday, November 7, featuring shrimp, clams, craft beer, and animal encounters to benefit the Central Florida Zoo. The riverfront event runs 4–7 p.m. in Longwood, costs $45 per person, and includes raffles and a silent auction, with limited tickets available in advance. 
• NASA Visits Schools Strengthening Florida's Skilled Workforce (nasa.gov) — Students at Lyman High School in Longwood recently showcased aerospace, robotics, welding, and trades skills to NASA's STEM engagement chief as part of Space Florida's Project ORBIT. The visit highlighted how local teens are being connected to aviation, space, and advanced manufacturing careers through a growing statewide academy supported by a new $10.5 million NASA initiative.
