Subaru of Pembroke Pines Presents $97,068 in Donations to Two Hometown Charities

Subaru of Pembroke Pines is proud to donate more than $97,000 to two hometown charities, continuing its longstanding tradition of giving to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the Humane Society of Broward County through the Subaru Share the Love® Event.

Every year, Craig Zinn Automotive Group President and CEO Craig Zinn generously matches the amount raised by the campaign. This year, Subaru of Pembroke Pines raised $70,463.34 for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and $26,605.01 for the Humane Society of Broward County, for a total of $97,068.35.

Zinn presented the donations to the recipients during a check presentation ceremony held at Subaru of Pembroke Pines on Sept. 18. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital was represented by Ashley Kozich, director of corporate philanthropy, along with Goldie, one of the hospital’s animal-assisted therapy dogs. The Humane Society of Broward County was represented by Kathy Tricomi, senior vice president of development, and Amy Murphy, development specialist.

The latest donations bring Subaru of Pembroke Pines’ cumulative giving to more than $1.27 million for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital since 2018 and more than $140,000 for the Humane Society of Broward County since 2021 through the Subaru Share the Love® Event.

The funds raised for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital will support a variety of services, including its Animal Assisted Therapy Program, an initiative with a longstanding connection to Craig Zinn and Craig Zinn Automotive Group. In 2023, Zinn initiated an Animal Assisted Therapy Endowment at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, with Craig Zinn Automotive Group committing to build the endowment to $500,000 to help fund the program in perpetuity. The commitment funds the program’s initial needs and supports costs associated with an additional therapy dog and handler.

The impact of the program was also represented at this year’s check presentation by Goldie. The Animal Assisted Therapy Program provides comfort and companionship to young patients and can help improve mood and reduce stress and anxiety.

Funds raised for the Humane Society of Broward County will support initiatives including clinics, behavior training, shelter services and other programs that promote animal welfare throughout South Florida in hopes of finding furry friends a forever home.
