HIALEAH, FL — A Hialeah homeowner whom police described as a "quiet man" was anything but on Wednesday as he allegedly opened fire on two AT&T trucks parked near his property. The utility told Patch that no one was hurt in the attack. One local television news channel said that 64-year-old Jorge Jove is accused of firing multiple shots while one of the workers managed to capture the bizarre attack on cellphone video.

"He flattened their tires. He shot into the bodies of the trucks. He shot out one of the radiators of the truck," Officer Carl Zogby of the Hialeah Police Department told Local 10 News. "He seemed to be a quiet man and something made him snap today." (Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Miami Patch.)

Kelly Starling of AT&T told Patch that the incident could have been much worse. "We're grateful nobody was hurt, and we're working with law enforcement in their investigation," she said on Wednesday afternoon.

Video of the incident captured the figure of an older man wearing short pants as he walked around the trucks firing a handgun in a methodical fashion. The sound of air escaping from the large truck tires could be heard as the man kept firing with an outstretched arm pointed at the trucks.

Zogby also told the news crew that the AT&T workers were legally parked in the 600 block of SE Fifth Place at the time of the shooting around 11 a.m.

"They were on public access. they were working on utility lines. They have every legal right to do so," Zogby said in the taped interview. "Apparently, he got upset for some reason, went into his house. They thought that was the end of that but then he came out with a gun. They ran for their lives."
