• Newberry projects $2.2M setback if property taxes eliminated (mainstreetdailynews.com) — Newberry leaders just learned the city could lose roughly $2.2–$2.5 million—about 20% of its general fund—if a statewide property tax elimination amendment passes in November. At the same joint meeting, officials highlighted Newberry’s fast-growing AgFoodTech Innovation Park, including a May 26 groundbreaking for massive hydroponic greenhouses expected to bring new jobs and year-round leafy greens production.
