Homeless Man Arrested For Theft Of Deputy's Firearm

Deputies have arrested a homeless New Port Richey man for stealing a gun that a Pasco Sheriff's detective left in a Burger King bathroom.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- Pasco County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a homeless New Port Richey man for stealing the 40-caliber agency-issued handgun that a Pasco Sheriff's detective left in a Burger King bathroom Friday, June 8.

Pasco Sheriff's Deputy's Gun Stolen From Burger King Bathroom

David Scott Haney, 49, was charged with one count of theft of a firearm and booked into the Land O' Lakes Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.The gun has not been located at this time and deputies are continuing their search for it.
