Pasco Sheriff Arrests Accused Amazon Prime Day Porch Pirates

Pasco County Sheriff's detectives have arrested two men for reportedly stealing Amazon Prime packages delivered to homes in Holiday.

SPRING HILL, FL -- Pasco County Sheriff's detectives have arrested two men for reportedly stealing Amazon Prime packages delivered to homes in the Lone Star Ranch subdivision in Spring Hills.

Around 4 p.m. on July 18, two men were captured on surveillance video driving through the neighborhood in a mid-sized U-Haul truck searching for deliveries from Amazon Prime Day purchases. The two men stole packages from at least three homes. (See related story.)

Detectives were able to locate the U-Haul truck at the Belmont Inn Hotel, 1736 U.S. 19 N., Port Richey, and tracked down the driver, Daniel Johnson, 43, who admitted to stealing the packages with the help of Richard Harlow, 43. Johnson also said the duo stole packages from a neighborhood near Griffin Park in New Port Richey.

Harlow was arrested at his home on Teak Street in New Port Richey but denied participating in the thefts.

Some of the stolen items were recovered.
