Update: Pasco Deputies Arrest Suspect In Attempted Drug Murder

Nieuwkerk was arrested without incidence at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10.

PORT RICHEY, FL – Thanks to a pizza delivery driver, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended a Port Richey man who reportedly opened fire on cohorts during a drug deal.

According to sheriff's reports, on Tuesday, Jan. 9, Luis Marino Nieuwkerk, 32, allegedly opened fire on a group of people following a drug dispute at 7036 Ashwood Drive, Port Richey. No one was injured in the shooting.

Witnesses said Nieuwkerk then fled in a dark-colored sedan that was later located at an apartment complex at 10706 Yorkshire Court, Port Richey.

Deputies were staking out the apartment complex when a pizza delivery driver indicated which apartment Nieuwkerk was hiding in. Nieuwkerk was arrested without incidence at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10.
