Chief Alex Kukulus plans for about 80% of Niceville firefighters to become paramedics starting in June, with neighboring departments also joining the training.

4. Keep the change. Pennies have been 'discontinued' in Florida (pnj.com) ā Nicevilleās state Sen. Don Gaetz sponsored Floridaās new law letting retailers round cash totals to the nearest nickel now that pennies are no longer produced. The change, already in effect, doesnāt alter listed prices or taxes but could affect how Niceville shoppersā in-person cash purchases are totaled at the register.

This metro-east city is one of the āsafest college towns' in US, analysis finds (bnd.com) ā Niceville tops a new national list as the safest college town in America, with an overall crime rate of just 0.42 per 1,000 residents. The ranking, compiled by Research.com, compares crime and population data across U.S. college communities and places Edwardsville, Illinois at No. 14, highlighting how strongly Niceville stands out for safety.
