Deputies say the group attacked the Good Samaritan after he intervened, prompting a strong warning from the sheriff about protecting community safety in Palatka.

The growing Railroad Fire complex is disrupting rail service for at least two days while crews and state agencies work to contain the 3,000-acre blaze and reassess travel safety.
