Palm Beach Diocese says investigation showed priest committed sexual misconduct, abuse of power (ewtnnews.com) — The Catholic Diocese of Palm Beach has removed Father Alex Vargas from ministry after an internal investigation found credible allegations of sexual misconduct, financial malfeasance, and abuse of power, though no minors were involved. Parishioners at St. Thomas More Parish now have a new administrator and access to a diocesan healing team while Vargas awaits a future judicial process.
   

2. West Palm nixes 25-story towers on Flagler as downtown plan advances (coralspringsflnews.com) — West Palm Beach's Downtown Action Committee has advanced a major overhaul of the downtown master plan while dropping a hotly debated provision that would have allowed 25‑story towers along Flagler Drive's waterfront. The plan still permits taller buildings elsewhere downtown and extends the district to a key Okeechobee–South Dixie parcel, changes that Palm Beach–area residents may notice in traffic patterns, skyline growth, and future housing options.
   

3. Palm Beach County residents push for stricter animal care regulations (wpbf.com) — Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control is revising its animal care ordinance after pushback from hobby breeders, and residents are urging tougher rules on unethical "backyard" breeding. If you live in Palm Beach County, these changes could affect pet ownership, breeding rules, and enforcement, and officials are still inviting emailed public comments before commissioners review the updated proposal in November.
   

4. Palm Beach Atlantic celebrates 3 Fulbright recipients (palmswestjournal.com) — Palm Beach Atlantic University is celebrating three faculty and alumni who earned Fulbright Awards for research and English teaching abroad in Spain, Kosovo, and beyond. Their work, from Spanish philosophy to financial literacy and mentoring new scholars, reflects the growing global reach and reputation of the West Palm Beach-based Christian university and its students.
   

5. Terra, Frisbie buy more of ex-Palm Beach Kennel Club for $20M (therealdeal.com) — Developers Terra and Frisbie Group have bought another large piece of the former Palm Beach Kennel Club property, moving ahead with plans for a 42-acre mixed-use project near the airport. The proposed Westgate Village would bring more than 1,100 apartments and significant retail space to unincorporated Palm Beach County, with construction expected to start this year.
