📰 News we're reading

1. GoFundMe for Panama City shark attack victim raises $158,000 (newsherald.com) — A Panama City-based Navy civilian is recovering after a serious shark attack in St. Andrew Bay near Naval Support Activity Panama City, and neighbors have already donated more than $158,000 through GoFundMe. The funds will help cover extensive medical care, rehab, travel, and living costs so the family can focus on long-term healing and recovery.

2. Donald Lee Sellers Obit (chipleybugle.com) — Family and friends in Chipley and Panama City are mourning 83-year-old Donald Lee Sellers, a highly decorated U.S. Army veteran whose service included a combat tour in Vietnam. Loved ones plan full military funeral honors, with final arrangements through Brown's Funeral Home and additional service details to be announced.

3. Arnold volleyball seeks to break decade-long district title drought (mypanhandle.com) — Just across the bridge in Panama City Beach, Arnold High's volleyball team is gearing up to end a decade-long district title drought under new head coach Wayne Risinger. With only two seniors and several rising underclassmen, key position battles and a wide-open libero spot should make this season especially interesting for Bay County fans.

4. Registration for FWC's School Fishing Program opens soon (wfla.com) — Panama City–area teachers, parents, and coaches can soon register school fishing clubs through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, with sign-ups opening Thursday at 8 a.m. The program supplies curriculum on ethical angling and conservation, plus limited physical materials and fishing gear for early registrants through September 30.
