An inmate from the Escambia County Jail escaped from road crew work detail at approximately 12:12 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10. Inmate Lance Chatman, a 36-year-old white male escaped while working at Aston Broshnaham Park. The Escambia County Corrections K-9 team captured him within 21 minutes. The inmate was transported back to the Escambia County jail and will be charged with escape.

Chatman is being held on charges of burglary, larceny, vehicle theft and damage to property. He has been at the Escambia County Jail since March 18, 2021.
