SARASOTA, FL — A Michelin-recognized pizza concept is headed to the Sarasota area later this month.
Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza will open on June 23 at The Market at University Town Center in University Park, a news release from the company said.
The new restaurant, at 5231 University Parkway, Suite 111, will be the brand’s first location in the Sarasota-Bradenton market.
The 2,200-square-foot restaurant will offer indoor dining and outdoor patio seating as the Miami-born company expands its Florida footprint.
Mister O1 is known for artisanal star-shaped pizzas and was founded by Italian chef Renato Viola.
Viola’s “extraordinary artistic ability” earned him an O-1 visa, and the restaurant’s name grew from that designation, the company said.
The brand grew from a Miami Beach location into a concept with locations across Florida, Georgia and Texas.
“Sarasota felt like a natural fit for Mister O1 because it’s a community that values quality, consistency and authenticity — all of which are core to our brand,” Karif Cohen, brand partner for Mister O1 UTC Sarasota, said. “There’s a strong appreciation here for thoughtful dining experiences and for the value behind concepts built with intention and care. That aligns with who we are. Mister O1 is rooted in exceptional flavors, warm hospitality, hardworking teams and constant innovation.”
The Sarasota-area menu will include signature items such as the Star Luca, which has ricotta-filled points, and the Coffee Paolo, made with Italian tomato sauce, mozzarella, gorgonzola blue cheese, natural honey, coffee and spicy salami, according to the announcement.
Diners will also find the Bella Margherita, calzones, salads, a burrata bar and dessert pizzas including Nutella Pizza.
