An officer in an unmarked vehicle saw the car run through a red light and followed it at a distance.

The officer saw D’Agostino turn onto Prudence Drive and park the car. He got out of the car and fled on foot, hopping over a fence, police said.

A homeowner in the area told police that he saw a man matching the suspect’s description go into his tool shed.

When the Community Action Team and K-9 Unit responded, D’Agostino surrendered, and he was arrested.

After his arrest, officers traced his steps and found a wallet and a crossbody bag with a white powdered substance inside that tested positive for fentanyl, police said.

D’Agostino was charged with motor vehicle theft, fleeing and eluding with disregard for safety, possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
