2-Alarm Fire Doused By Fire Crews At Quadro Supermarket In Tampa

The cause of a two-alarm fire at the Quadro Supermarket in Tampa remains under investigation.

Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 3:21 a.m. Thursday and, upon arriving, found heavy smoke coming from the front entrance of the grocery store at 8401 N. Armenia Ave.

TAMPA, FL — The cause of a two-alarm fire at the Quadro Supermarket in Tampa remains under investigation.

Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 3:21 a.m. Thursday and, upon arriving, found heavy smoke coming from the front entrance of the grocery store at 8401 N. Armenia Ave.

A second alarm was called for more firefighters to assist due to the size of the building. Dense smoke inside obscured the vision of firefighters but they were able to determine that no one was inside.

Firefighters found heavy fire at the rear of the building and began attacking it from outside. The fire was under control within 20 minutes.

There were no injuries.

The department's fire investigator is still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
