3 Interstate 275 Ramp Closings Announced

The closings are planned for both Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Motorists who use Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County to get around will want to keep their eyes open for some upcoming ramp closings.

The Florida Department of Transportation has announced it will close down three separate ramps Wednesday and Thursday nights as part of its ongoing construction project.

  • Southbound I-275 exit 39 ramp onto westbound State Road 60 (Memorial Highway). This ramp will close from 11:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. both Wednesday and Thursday nights. Motorists should exit at West Shore Boulevard (Exit 40A), turn right and go north to Spruce Street and then turn left and go west to westbound State Road 60 or Tampa International Airport. Just a heads up, for those who pass the closed Exit 39, the next exit ramp is seven miles across the Bay at Exit 32 (4th Street North).
  • Dale Mabry Highway northbound entrance ramp onto northbound I-275. This ramp will close between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. both Wednesday and Thursday nights. Motorists can go east on Cypress Street and then north on Himes Avenue to access the Himes Avenue entrance ramp.
  • Ashley/Kay/Tampa entrance ramps to southbound I-275. The entrance ramps will close between 11:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. both Wednesday and Thursday nights. Motorists on Tampa/Kay streets will be directed south on Tampa Street. From there, they can turn right and head west on Kennedy Boulevard, turn right and go north onto Howard Avenue then turn left onto Green Street and use the entrance ramp after crossing Armenia Avenue. Motorists on Ashley Drive will use the same detour, beginning by turning right onto Kennedy Boulevard, FDOT announced.
