When deputies arrived, they found a woman suffering from at least one stab wound, the sheriff’s office said. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Investigators found that during an altercation between two groups, Anijah Green stabbed the 21-year-old victim, who hasn’t been named, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Green on Monday and she was taken into custody the next day.

Green was charged with aggravated battery great bodily harm and deadly weapon, and attempted murder in the second-degree with a weapon.

“This violent act left a young woman seriously injured and put multiple lives at risk,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “Thanks to the swift work of our deputies and detectives, the suspect was quickly identified and taken into custody. Violence like this has no place in our community, and we will continue working to hold those responsible fully accountable.”
