Man Dies Days After Being Shot In Tampa: Police

Detectives are investigating the death of a man five days after he was shot on a Tampa street, police said.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police are conducting a death investigation after a man died Sunday, five days after he was shot on the street, authorities said.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of N. Nebraska Avenue and E. McEwen Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Sept. 22, Tampa police said in a news release.

They found a critically injured man and performed life-saving measures at the scene.

The victim was brought to a local hospital, where he died Sunday from injuries sustained in the shooting, police said.

Tampa police are conducting a death investigation and detectives are continuing to gather evidence.

Investigators haven't released the victim's identity or additional details about the shooting.
