Carjacker Who Swiped Mom's Car Busted in Pinellas, Cops Say
The man was found at Indian Rocks Beach Park.
TAMPA, FL – A 35-year-old Tampa man accused of stealing a mother’s car at knifepoint Wednesday was brought into custody early Thursday morning after Pinellas deputies spotted the man at a park in that county.
According to the Tampa Police Department, Antwon Tillery was located at Indian Rocks Beach Park hours after the alleged carjacking was committed.
Tillery is accused of holding a Tampa woman at knifepoint Wednesday morning and taking off in her green Hyundai Santa Fe. The woman’s 8-year-old daughter was in the vehicle at the time, but was able to get out before the man drove off with the car. The mother, police noted, was leaving to take her daughter to school when the carjacking occurred.

Tillery was being booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a number of charges including grand theft auto, assault on a law enforcement officer and fleeing and eluding, jail records indicate. Charges from Tampa are pending.
