'Elf,' 'Couples Retreat' Actor Arrested In Tampa: Reports

TAMPA, FL — An actor who appeared in “Elf,” “Couples Retreat” and “Friday” was arrested Tuesday in Tampa.

Faizon Love, 58, was arrested on two contempt of court warrants by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsborough County court records show.

Love, who lives in California, is being held without bond at the Orient Road Jail.

The arrest is connected to an ongoing paternity case involving Love and Tiffany Lee, the mother of his children, that dates back to 2019, reports said.

Last month, a judge issued an order to bring him into custody to serve 90 days for civil contempt of court after he failed to appear for an April 8 hearing and didn’t provide a complete financial affidavit, WTSP reported. Love failed to surrender himself on May 1.

He previously told a judge that he’s unemployed and unable to pay the $250,000 Lee claims she owes him, according to TMZ. The most he said he earned in a year was $13,000 and he claimed he earned $0 last year.

He also claimed that he missed the April hearing because of a medical incident, the entertainment news outlet said.

Love’s attorney confirmed the arrest to NBC 7 in San Diego, but couldn’t provide any details about the case.
