• Old Springfield fire truck to aid Gulf Coast State College trainees (mypanhandle.com) — Springfield’s fire department has donated an older fire truck to Gulf Coast State College’s fire academy, giving local trainees a fully certified engine to practice on. With Springfield’s newer trucks now in service, this retired vehicle will help students learn real-world firefighting skills before taking the state fire exam, strengthening the pipeline of trained firefighters for the area.
