Man Killed In Fiery Crash on Snell Island Boulevard

BREAKING: The accident was Wednesday at 12:56 a.m., St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A 55-year-old motorist died early this morning after hitting a palm tree on Snell Isle Boulevard Northeast, police said.

Vembu Subramanian, a St. Petersburg resident, was driving a 2014 Audi above the 30-mph speed limit, failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the road at about 12:46 a.m., the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

The car rolled onto its side and caught fire. Subramanian died at the scene, police said.
