Man Who Drove Stolen Car Into St. Pete Home Sought By Police

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Investigators are asking for public assistance in identifying a man who drove a stolen Honda Accord into a house on 14th Avenue S. early Monday morning and walked away from the crash, St. Petersburg police said in a news release. The house, which suffered significant structural damage, caught fire in the 3 a.m. crash, police said. The car parked in the driveway was also damaged.

The hit-and-run driver, who hasn’t been identified, left the scene on foot.

The vehicle was stolen sometime overnight from the 2100 block of 9th Avenue S., police said.
