The investigation began after discrepancies in cash records surfaced, and the employee is now facing a larceny charge and being held without bond as the city works to restore public trust.

• Worker taken into custody on child molestation warrant while on duty at Wildwood pipe company (meigsindypress.com) — Wildwood residents should know that police arrested a 35-year-old employee at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry on County Road 124A on a felony child molestation warrant from Lake County. Officers detained him at the plant, secured a handgun from his vehicle, and held him without bond at the Sumter County Detention Centre while he awaits transfer to Lake County.

The Brooklyn-born Army veteran and retired mailman is remembered for his devotion to family, artistic talents, and warm personality that made him beloved wherever he lived, including his later years in Florida.
