2nd Round Of Pandemic EBT Benefits Issued For Young Children

Eligible families will start seeing the additional benefits placed on their EBT cards Wednesday.

ATLANTA, GA — The second round of pandemic EBT assistance for children younger than 6-years-old is now being issued, according to the Georgia Department of Human Services.

Eligible families in Georgia's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program can receive a little more than $29 per child for each eligible month, state officials said.

The Division of Family and Children Services will continue issuing the benefits through Oct. 30, according to Human Services.

Recipients must have been younger than 6-years-old at the start of the 2021-22 school year and enrolled in SNAP from August 2021 to May.

Benefits will automatically be loaded onto the head of household's EBT card, according to Human Services.

The following are distribution dates for the benefits:

  • Oct. 26 for head of household client IDs ending in 00-19
  • Oct. 27 for head of househould client IDs ending in 20-39
  • Oct. 28 for head of household client IDs ending in 40-59
  • Oct. 29 for head of household client IDs ending in 60-79
  • Oct. 30 for head of household client IDs ending in 80-99

The first round of pandemic EBT assistance was issued in late September and was for August-December 2021.
