Foul Play Not Suspected In Fatal GA House Fire, Officials Say
Six people, reportedly including three children, were killed Monday in a Coweta Co. fire that injured five other people.
NEWNAN, GA — A Coweta County house fire that killed six people, including three children, and injured five others Monday is being investigated, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King's office announced Thursday.
The fire, which occurred around 5 a.m. in the 1300 block of Macedonia Road, also injured a firefighter, Coweta County Fire Chief Robby Flanagan said at a past news conference.
Of the six people killed, three of them were children, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Flanagan previously said the home was halfway involved in fire when crews arrived on scene.
King's office said the blaze began in the home's garage; however, he did not identify a cause. Foul play is not suspected in the fire.

“Out of the 11 occupants, five were able to escape and were transported to Grady Hospital for treatment,” King said in a news release. “The remaining occupants were declared deceased on scene."

While Flanagan did not identify the deceased, the AJC reported their ages ranged from 6-years-old to 70-years-old.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office in a statement said it was saddened by the news of the house fire.
"Our hearts go out to the family and friends affected by this tragic loss. We ask that everyone please keep the victims and their loved ones in their thoughts and prayers," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
King's office is partnering with the sheriff's office, Coweta County Fire Rescue and the Coweta County Coroner's Office on this investigation.
