Rapper Takeoff, Of Migos, Dies After Being Shot At Houston Party

Takeoff, who is part of the Atlanta-based group Migos, died Tuesday morning while attending a party with bandmate Quavo, reports say.

HOUSTON, TEXAS — Migos rapper Takeoff, whose real name is Kirsnik Khari Ball, died Tuesday morning during a shooting at a Houston bowling alley, a representative for the group told The Associated Press.

He was 28-years-old and was one-third of the Atlanta-based Migos, alongside cousin Offset and Quavo, his uncle.

According to the Associated Press, Houston officers responded around 2:30 a.m. to a shooting at 810 Billiards and Bowling.

Two other people were injured in the shooting, the outlet reported.

Variety Magazine reported Quavo was in attendance at the party, where a dice game took place. Variety reported Quavo was not harmed.

Details of suspects have not been released.

Takeoff is originally from Lawrenceville and started rapping in Migos in 2008. They were eventually signed to Quality Control in Atlanta and are known for hits such as "Versace" and "Clout."
