Tornado Watch, Severe T-Storm Warnings Issued For Multiple GA Counties
A tornado watch is in effect for Clarke, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Forsyth, Fulton and Gwinnett counties until 8 p.m. Friday.
GEORGIA — A tornado watch is in effect for Clarke, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Forsyth, Fulton and Gwinnett counties until 8 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office.
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 5:15 p.m. for southeastern Paulding, northwestern DeKalb, Cobb, Douglas and central Fulton counties, according to a Nixle alert from the Lithonia Police Department.
A high wind warning is in effect for Bartow, Cherokee, Paulding, Cobb and Douglas counties until 11 p.m. Friday.

Southwest winds are expected to move at 20-30 mph with wind gusts moving up to 60 mph, according to the weather service.
Weather officials confirmed to Patch portions of Paulding and Cherokee counties suffered wind damage, causing downed trees and power lines.

People are advised to stay away from forested areas and around trees and branches.
"If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive," weather officials said in the alert.
