• Cobb Chamber honors 2026 public safety award recipients (cobbcountycourier.com) — An Acworth Police officer, Michael Payne, was honored with the Cobb Chamber's Leadership & Excellence Award for nearly five decades of service and his work preserving the legacy of a fallen Acworth officer. Other Cobb County first responders were also recognized for lifesaving rescues, cybercrime investigations, and community outreach during the chamber's 2026 Public Safety Appreciation Luncheon.

Licensed Georgia OT practitioners with at least three years' experience, especially with older adults, can earn a $3,700 stipend teaching pediatric treatment methods starting in fall 2026.
