On Tuesday, the family of Gregory Kent Murrey filed a lawsuit against the team and Major League Baseball. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the lawsuit alleges the 30-inch railing over which Murrey fell should be higher, and that both the Braves and MLB are aware that they should be higher.
Murrey, 60, fell last August during a Braves game against the New York Yankees.

According to MLB.com, Murrey lost his balance and plunged 50 feet to the lower bowl section behind home plate as slugger Alex Rodriguez made his way onto the field for a pinch-hit appearance.
Days after the incident, the Fulton County Medical Examiner determined Murrey's death an accident, adding "there was no underlying medical condition found that contributed to death.”
An autopsy ruled the cause of death as ”blunt force injuries to the head and torso.”
"The Atlanta Braves are deeply saddened by the loss of Greg Murrey at last night's game'" the Braves previously said in a statement. "Greg was a valued and longtime season ticket holder and an incredibly passionate Braves fan. This tragic loss is felt throughout Braves Country, and the thoughts and prayers of the entire Braves organization continue to go out to his family and friends."
