Georgia Coronavirus Cases Top 2,300; 79 Deaths Reported
As of Saturday, Georgia has over 600 hospitalizations, which make up approximately a quarter of the state's coronavirus cases.
GEORGIA — The number of Georgia fatalities from the new coronavirus, or COVID-19, nearly doubled to 79 deaths, or 3.23 percent of cases, by Saturday night, March 28. Fulton County has the most deaths, with 13 to date. The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 2,476 cases statewide. The state has 660 coronavirus hospitalizations, representing just over a quarter of the state's COVID-19 cases.
As of Saturday evening, Fulton County's 378 cases are the most of any Georgia locality. The next highest totals are 246 in DeKalb County, 224 in Dougherty County, 185 in Cobb County, 131 in Gwinnett County and 117 in Bartow County. Carroll County has 64 cases, Clayton County has 57, Cherokee County has 54, Henry County has 50, Lee County has 39, Clarke and Douglas counties each have 35, Hall County has 31, Floyd County has 27, Fayette County has 26, Forsyth County has 22 and Paulding has 20 cases.
Of Georgia's coronavirus cases, 59 percent are between ages 18 and 59, while those above the age of 60 make up 34 percent. People up to age 17 represent 1 percent of cases, and the remaining percentage of cases have unknown ages.

Commercial laboratories have conducted 9,185 tests, and 2,158 came back positive for COVID-19. Among the Georgia Department of Health's 1,866 completed tests, 288 came back positive.

All 16 cities in Gwinnett County, along with the county itself, are under stay-at-home orders until April 13, officials said late Friday.
