Milton Gateway Sign To Be Sold As Christmas Ornament

The Crabapple Community Association is selling the ornament featuring the sign, with proceeds benefiting city programs and events.

MILTON, GA -- Christmas is coming to Milton a little earlier this year thanks to the Crabapple Community Association, the organization that brings together residents and businesses to enhance the quality of life in the Crabapple district.

In partnership with the city, the organization will offer a Christmas ornament for sale, with proceeds benefiting Milton's special events and programs.

CCA President Jennifer Newton said this is the first ornament in what the organization hopes will become an annual tradition (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

"Each year, the plan is to offer a unique ornament with proceeds benefiting a designated organization or initiative," Newton added.

The inaugural ornament selected is the city's iconic gateway sign that welcomes visitors to the Crabapple area. The same sign that was stolen in late 2016 and returned anonymously after pleas on the city's social media accounts to "bring the sign home for the holidays."

"After all the excitement with the sign being stolen last year, our Communications and Engagement Department loved the idea of the ornament," said Milton's Mayor Joe Lockwood. "We value our partnerships with our civic, community and business organizations and we're honored to be selected to kick off a new tradition for CCA."

Questions regarding ornament purchases should be directed to CCA Executive Director Amanda Fuller at CCAornament@gmail.com.
